WOODHOUSE'S TOAD Anaxyrus (Bufo) woodhousii Girard, 1854

STATUS:  Abundant

DOCUMENTED COUNTIES:  Collin, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Hood, Johnson, Kaufman, Parker, Rockwall, Somervell, Tarrant, and Wise

HABITAT:  all habitats in the Metroplex

SUBSPECIES:  East Texas Toad (B. w. velatus  Bragg & Sanders, 1951) and Woodhouse's Toad  (B. w. woodhousii Girard, 1854)

COMMENTS:  Woodhouse's toad is in decline in some urban areas.  The east Texas toad has only been found in eastern Kaufman County.
